My Idol

DAY6

Hello everyone! How are you?

I hope you all are in a good condition and ready to hear story about my idol.

So, my idol is a group called Day6! I’ve been a fan of them since when I was in 8th grade.

Day6 is a South Korean pop-rock band under the label JYP Entertainment. The group debuted on September 7, 2015. What's unique about Day6 is they are not only skilled at playing instruments, but all the members are also can sing. Isn’t it cool they can do both singing and playing instrument at the same time? Not merely that, all of Day6 songs are written and produced by themselves. 

At first, Day6 consisted of 6 members, but unfortunately there’s only 4 members left due to personal reasons.

Now let’s move on to the get to know the members session.

2015 - 2016

Usually, other group band when debut, they always promote their song on the tv program such as music bank, etc. But Day6 choose a different path, they did busking or live performance in the public place like band club, park, roadside, even in the mall.

They did such a wonderful and energetic performance!

2017

2017 is a moment when Day6 went more popular. Why?

Again, because the method of their album promotion. Imagine, being an artist who makes music that has to realesed 2 songs every month in a year! I admire their tenacity in making music.

2018 - 2019

For the first time Day6 won and got their first award as winners at MGA 2018 in the Best Band Performance category for the song Shoot Me.

Of course, their name is getting popular and popular, until they decided to go on a world tour named "Day6 1st World Tour: Youth". Honestly, when I watched the performance from YouTube, I got goosebumps because how phenomenal the concert was.

 

Fyi, in 2018 they also made their debut in Japan!

 

It doesn't stop there, in 2019 they held their 2nd world tour named "Day6 2nd World Tour: Gravity." What an amazing concert!

Oh, I almost forgot! They also won their award at Genie Music Awards 2019, and so on.

2020 - present

They did make a comeback with album:

And they won again in MAMA 2020 as the Best Band Performance.

But as you guys can see, in that photo there's only 3 members. Because the other 2 members are on the unstable mental health condition. So, they need to get rest. And the 3 members formed as Day6 sub-unit called "Day6 Even of Day."

Before the Right Trough Me album released, Day6 full members finally made a comeback after 1 year hiatus!

Actually, this album released when Sungjin was on his military service, what an unfortunate. In 2021 - 2022, each member has released their solo album before they went to their military service camp.

Suddenly, on January 2022, the lead guitarist, Jae, left Day6 due to his personal problem with the CEO of the JYP Entertainment. But don't worry, he already talked to the other members and he wants the fans to always trust Day6 also himself.

And now, 2023, 3 members are finally back from the military service. They gathered and doing their career again as a band. There's only 1 member left again, who still in military service as NAVY. He will return in November 2023! Can't wait to see 4 of them gather and make their comeback again.
